Lead Investigator began his Law Enforcement career in April 1994, with the Sheriff's Department, shortly after graduating with a BA degree in criminal justice from the University of Nebraska, in 1993.

April 1994: lead investigator took a position with the Douglas County Sheriff's Department with the Civil Process Division.

This move was only done to get his foot in the door, show those, including Sheriff Tim Dunning, at the time, the position of being a Civil Process Server, although not the main goal and not realized @ that time, would one day come to be a great opportunity to increase a select service within his private detective agency. After 2 years of serving literally 1,000's of Legal Documents, the Police Academy would be the next goal to accomplish within the next 22 weeks.

However, as fate would have it, Grand Island, NE would not be the academy of attendance, rather the Omaha Police Academy, due to 4 Deputies already enrolled in the Grand Island NE academy, with the Sheriff needing to get 3 more Deputies being trained so they could hit the street quicker than waiting for the next Grand Island, NE academy.

This worked out excellent and even though the academy was 22 weeks long vs 13 weeks at Grand Island, NE; the Lead Investigator would find lifelong OPD Officers as loyal friends. While not realizing it at the time, a very strong networking bond would be formed with many of the OPD Officers.
