Private Investigators May be Kept Busy for Back-to-School

CHICAGO, IL -- Last year, many school districts worked with private investigators to uncover families who were attending public schools outside of their district. This year, the trend is expected to continue and many parents are compiling documentation to prove to schools that they live within a district. Last year, the Orland Park district took one parent to court after private investigators found that the family did not reside in the district. The school district is now pursuing a civil case to get $24,208 in tuition fees from the family. This year, Oak Park Elementary School District 97 mandates that all students in the school verify their places of residence before enrolling.
